Our Venue 'Orada'
Orada is a family-owned retreat venue, located in the heart of the Odemira woods of Alentejo in the south of Portugal, near the border of the Algarve.
Monte da Orada', an ancient sanctuary, is a haven to immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty and tranquil serenity of nature and serene atmosphere.
Orada is driven by the belief that reconnecting with nature, prioritizing health, and embracing sustainability is essential in liberating ourselves from the toxicity of modern life.
Within this harmonious setting, you are welcomed in the rustic countryside home. Surrounded by the elements... lots of sunlight, vibrant green life, overwhelming silence, and an amazing night sky.
We will be the only residents of Orada this week and we will have the mindfullness temple, a spacious panoramic hall, the sunset vistas from the panoramic rooftop terrace and the refreshing biopool all by ourselves.
Accommodation
Different accommodation types are spread accros the estate situated on a mountain top. The buildings and retreat facilities were reconstructed using traditional and organic materials, giving the property not only an authentic Portuguese feel, but also providing a healthy and comfortable environment in all weather.
Accommodation is in shared bedrooms. There is also a very limited amount of single bedrooms at an additional charge on a first come - first serve basis. (Please mention your preference in your application form).
Please note that this rural location requires some walking on uneven grounds to access the various buildings. If you have mobility problems or questions about this, please contact us.
Orada's kitchen chefs prepare every meal with all their heart, using home-grown ingredients, where possible organic- and always locally-sourced. Delicous, healthy and nutritious, vegan, and vegetarian dishes. They are happy to accommodate your needs in case of allergies or intolerances (please mention your preference in your application form).

If you would like, an extra day can be added after the retreat for integration and a relaxed transitioning. To book it, please tick the box about it in your application form. For those who stay this extra day, departure will be on 26th October.
Getting there and away
Nearest cities with airports and trainstations are Lisbon (3h - 220 km) & Faro (2h - 140 km).
We will provide suggestions on how to get to the venue once your application has been approved.
Important note: Do not plan to arrive late or leave before the end of the retreat.

After receiving your deposit, we will send you the Application Form.
It invites you to reflect on your deeper motivations for participating: You will be asked to answer 7 in-depth questions and upload a short informal video of yourself (max 3 minutes).
Please send the application
within 7 days of paying the deposit.
Step 3:
Get the Confirmation
After approving your application, you will receive the Welcome Letter with all practical information about The Journey.
In the unlikely event that - during the application process - you or we feel this Journey is not the right match at this moment, we will communicate this within 7 days and return the deposit you have transferred.
