Accepted Answer

The Energy Journey welcomes individuals, couples, and triads of all genders, sexual orientations and relationship statuses.

You wish to be more aware and understand the health &vibrancy of your energy systems.
You desire more understanding of - and access to - your internal energy system and your external field.
You want to learn and practise new skills-techniques to improve, nourish, vitalise and expand your experience of your Energy.
You have a desire and curiosity to explore your Energy, including how your energy meets and interacts with the Energy of others.
You long to feel and experience more sensation in your physical body.
You have a good connection to your energy body and some or a lot of experience in exploring Energy, yet you feel there is more to discover and master. 
You are keen to be part of a group process.
You are comfortable with - or open to - exploring spaces where there may be loud music, voices, expressions, sensitive, powerful emotional shares.
You are open to share experiences with others as part of this journey if that feels right for you. However, you clearly understand that connection with others is not the primary focus of this Journey.
You are comfortable with - or are open to - exploring a group space that is sex-positive, body positive, that welcomes individuals to share vulnerably and gives permission for the expression of emotions.

Who may not be suitable at this time to join this journey?

Accepted Answer

You have significant unresolved trauma in your physical, mental or emotional body:

(The retreat is not designed as an alternative to therapy or medical treatment. This journey can be challenging as well as rewarding.  Please read our Extended note on (Mental-) Health&Trauma, if the above is true for you. This should support you to make an informed choice.)

Some health conditions could be a contra-indication to participate. Some health conditions ask extra attention and care when you would participate. Please reach out via Contact@ElaineYonge.com to check with us.

You believe you may need one-to-one support with your Energy at this time.
You do not enjoy being part of a group process and are not open to seeing this as a gift.
You are not comfortable, familiar with or open to exploring spaces with optional loud music/noise and emotional expression.
Your primary motivation for attending this retreat is to create connections and have experiences with others rather than explore your own Energy.
You have significant fears or concerns regarding consciously and intentionally harnessing the power of your own Energy and/or that of others.
You have concerns that other people's negative' Energy can affect and potentially harm you.

Is this experience for individuals or couples?

Accepted Answer

This Journey is suitable for you, whether single or in a relationship, including those of all genders and all sexual orientations. Most people take this Journey as individuals and each group usually has a few couples who join.

A Note for Couples: 
If both of you wish to attend, you can decide to work with your partner only, or choose to work with others for all or some of the practices. The Energy Journey can be a powerful container for couples to regain their relationship with Energy as individuals and as part of their relationship. 
Please note if you are attending as a couple, it can be of benefit if you have both undertaken this type of experience or retreat before, separately or together. The reason for this is that when you join as a couple you are not only taking your individual journey; you are taking your relationship on a journey of its own.

While being on the journey with your partner brings additional gifts to attending as an individual, it does give you another dimension of experience to hold alongside your own experience.  Experience has shown that it can be challenging for both if one member of the couple is attending to please the other. It is essential that you both want to be part of this experience. It is important that you have good communication skills to navigate challenges that may arise.

Please be clear this is not a couples retreat or couples therapy journey. If you attend as a couple, we will support you as much as possible, given the group setting, to move through the process with care for your relationship. Extra caution is advised if one member of the couple has a significant history of trauma; the other may feel obliged to focus on supporting their partner rather than focusing on their own Journey.

Why Energy?

Chi, which flows through the internal and external energy channels and fields is a key component to many aspects of our health and well-being. They may also influence a sense of safety in the human body, connectedness to others to our environment and provide a sense of flow, combat stagnation in the physical body, thought forms etc.

Often in modern life, we expend and waste vast amounts of our precious Energy without awareness or acknowledgement that we are doing so. We often run low on energy fuel and we do not often fill up with the equivalent, balancing amount. Therefore many of us as human beings exist in an energy deficit.

In addition; when life challenges us this can create restrictions to flow through and to the interconnectedness of our energy channels. As a result, there can be a lack of awareness that we are living with a disjointed or disconnected energy body. Another crucial piece to this energy-body-awareness puzzle is the presence or absence of interconnectedness, integration, interdependence, and cohesiveness between the parts of us that are consciousness, spirit, matter and Energy.

In more traditional ancient methodologies, our Energy's health and vibrancy are often considered even more vital than our physical body. Ultimately, the quality and vibration of the Energy is believed to influence and affect the state of the matter strongly.

Therefore taking action to clear, activate, reset and rewire our energy system itself, building a stronger connection to our physical-spiritual bodies, is such an empowering action to choose - as it is often ignored, neglected, forgotten or is outside of our awareness.

What is Energy?

For the purpose of our Journey, Energy is Life Force - Chi

"Chi/Qi/Ki" can be described as Universal Energy, vital life force energy or simply Energy. 
Everything in creation consists of Energy vibrating at different frequencies. In living beings, Energy flows not only from physical nourishment but through the body in pathways known as meridians and in energy centres called chakras.

Are they the same or different channels? 
Depending on who you ask, the answer will undoubtedly vary. We will explore this for ourselves in our time together.

What will The Energy Journey involve?

There will be group sessions in the morning, afternoon and most evenings. The offerings will include small groups, larger sharing circles, a series of written and verbal inquiries to track your patterns, a few educational sessions, movement and dancing, individual practices, group rituals and meditations. The traditions and practices draw from traditional and alternative approaches to humans as Energy fields. We will consider the views of mainstream science and medicine alongside the ancient temple arts, including Chinese Medicine, Taoist knowledge, Tantra, Meditation and Shamanic transmissions on the human energy systems.

What experience is this journey offering me?

Accepted Answer

An opportunity to fully immerse yourself and be held and guided in a strong, consensual, brave container for 7 days. This container is created with love and care at its core, inviting you to a safer space to feel and transform. This is a brave space; one that invites you to tap into your courage and intention to meet all that may arise.

There will be an invitation to explore many different forms and intensities of Energy, so that your internal energy channels and an external energy field are in greater connection to your awareness, your physical body and your intention. This can support an energy reset, rewire expansion and integration.

In this journey, your relationship to your own Energy and the Energy of others will be explored, questioned and challenged, to call in a reset for an expanded capacity within your neurological, cellular, somatic, soul and brain systems.

Why do I need to learn about Energy? Why does it not come naturally to me?

Accepted Answer

At its most simple explanation, we have lost touch with this part of ourselves in the developed world. There remains a greater connection to our human energy systems in more indigenous cultures and communities than in modern mainstream society. These cultures often have a greater awareness of and connectedness to your intuition. Which is in some ways, another energetic function and pathway closely related to the human potential of psychic Energy and capabilities. Many overt and covert messages have taught many of us not to value or trust the part of us that is energetic; giving more weight and validity to the physical and mental aspects of ourselves.

There can also be some fear around our own Energy and the Energy of others. 'Hocus Pocus and Magic’ have been brought into the realms of the fairytale, or are perceived as potentially sinful, perhaps dangerous elements of life to engage with.

The thread of how humans are disempowered by disconnecting them from their personal and collective power, is not only seen in the attitude to humans as energy beings: It is very apparent in how society, some organisations and individuals view sexual Energy, which is another of human superpower.

Some would say the systems that desire us to be obedient and competent citizens in the large cog of the working wheel of the world, deliberately and systematically have disconnected humans from the knowledge, understanding and trust of our energy and sexual energy practices. There has been distrust, shaming, wronging, hiding and exploiting these very natural aspects of being a human being.

Much of our energetic interaction, connections and exchanges are not within our conscious awareness and are therefore often - and sadly non-consensual - both in terms of our own boundaries and those of others. Until that is, we choose to shine the light of awareness and intention, onto the behaviour and actions of our energy body and develop skills, to consciously engage our energy from a place of intention and choice.
